Marshall S. Lichty spent many years defending healthcare providers in medical-malpractice lawsuits. But his empathy and compassion for injured people and their families led him to join the boutique personal-injury litigation firm of Hallberg & McClain, P.A. to do sophisticated work on their behalf in medical-malpractice, wrongful-death, and personal-injury litigation all over Minnesota and North Dakota.
Mr. Lichty's experience on both sides of the medical-malpractice universe gives him creative perspective and a unique ability to improve the lives of injured people and their families by telling their stories in compelling ways with integrity and compassion. His diverse experience allows for quick identification of the strongest elements and any potentially problematic facts at an early stage of any dispute to help maximize recovery.
Mr. Lichty has been recognized by his peers and Minnesota Law & Politics magazine as a "Rising Star" perennially since 2007. He frequently writes and speaks about malpractice issues. He is a member of the Minnesota State, Ramsey County, and Hennepin County Bar Associations, and recently completed his one-year term as President of the Hennepin County Bar Foundation. Mr. Lichty sits on the University of Minnesota Alumni Association National Board of Directors and the University of Minnesota Law School Board of Advisors and Executive Committee. An Eagle Scout, Mr. Lichty also remains active with the Northern Star Council of the Boy scouts of America, is a former commissioner on the Minneapolis Charter Commission, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Fund for the Legal Aid Society.
Mr. Lichty lives in Northeast Minneapolis with his wife, Katie, and young son, Everett.
